We met Jack Lannom through another client. Jack had developed a series of motivational and educational materials in print, audio cassette, and video cassette formats:
- You are a Genius (for children)
- Memory Genius (for adults)
- Untapped Potential
- Mission Possible
- Real World Leadership Strategies That Work
Lannom Learning’s goal was to develop a distribution-based business model around its product line. Our mission was to make that happen.
InTelesis performed a study to determine how to properly develop a system to facilitate the business. System, in this case, meant drawing together all of the components necessary to facilitate the entire enterprise. This project included:
- consulting
- software development
- web development (marketing and e-commerce)
- policy and procedure development
- communications development
- marketing campaign development (click here to see the firdt 5 minutes of the infomercial)
- video production
- documentation development (required to perpetuate the operation)
Our responsibility was from warehousing, to marketing, to order processing, to fulfillment, to refilling inventory, to more sales, to the accounting department. We had to generate traffic, be able to take and process orders, fulfill the orders, manage the money, manage the inventory, and then make more sales (propagate the cycle).
We were responsible for the make/buy/rent decisions relating to:
- A place to warehouse inventory and fulfill orders
- A marketing campaign to drive traffic
- A web site to handle the online traffic
- Call center relationship(s) to manage the telephone traffic
- Controls to manage the money
- A methodology to collect information and distribute the appropriate pieces to the appropriate departments
- A process to manage all of the above
To develop the solution:
- Our consulting team used what we call “the process” to develop the necessary documentation (the blue print) to build, buy, assemble, stitch, and otherwise connect the many separate pieces. This is the most crucial part of any project. You have to know where you want to go in order to get there.
To generate traffic:
- We developed a long-form infomercial (28:30) (in association with Lion’s Share Entertainment) click here to see the infomercial (this was used to develop the base of the client pyramid)
- We made the media buys
- We developed a web site, with a high-volume architecture
To manage the orders, money, and inventory:
- We developed an online accounting system that contained:
- inventory control
- order processing
- Payment management/controls
- shipping management
- customer service management
- Our system provided real-time connectivity to the:
- accounting office (to manage the money)
- fulfillment center (to manage the orders and inventory)
- telemarketing facilities (to manage the telephone orders)
- To the managers of the various departments and executives
To generate more revenue:
- We developed after-the-fact marketing campaigns to increase revenues from existing clientele. This was used to develop the height of the client pyramid
- We developed various marketing partnerships that would benefit from each parties existing clients and product offerings
